May 23rd 2019’s Episode

I’m glad to be back to doing this blog now. There’s not much to say until I know more about this season in question starts and I know more about it. I do have to wonder if I inspired anyone to watch this show who was originally just a fan of CSI: Cyber and not this show. Now, let’s get to various updates. Note that it will be a while before I get to the main part of this post so I’ll post in all caps when the important part begins in case you want to skip it all.

First, I need to give an update on when this blog will be updated. I don’t even know yet if this will be a Thursday or Friday update. I’ll want to do these updates on Thursdays because that’s when this blog has normally been updated. I’ll explain more at the end of the post why I won’t be as prompt with the next two episodes and can only hope that I’ll get caught up as quickly as I want to.

I should go back to telling you movie updates from the lists that I’ve had. A lot has changed and if you read the updates in my Madam Secretary blog, you’ll know what had changed and when. Now there are five lists of movies to watch and roll from. Here’s more information about them.

I’ll tell you what the five lists are for now. Sunday’s list is Bambi, Celtic Woman’s original concert, Ghost Town, The Little Mermaid, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Pleasantville. Saturday’s list is Absolute Power, Finding Dory, The Lion King, North by Northwest, Rat Race, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Friday’s list is Avatar, my high school graduation DVD, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Lilo and Stitch, Pocahontas, and That Darn Cat. Monday’s list is Bend it Like Beckham, Despicable Me 3, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Liar Liar, Mr. Bean’s Holiday, and Toy Story 3. Tuesday’s list is Aladdin, Catch Me if You Can, Invictus, National Treasure, Raising Arizona, and Spaceballs.

Starting from the day after the Madam Secretary finale, the first movie change is that Toy Story 3 was watched and replaced by Shrek. On Tuesday, Spaceballs was watched and replaced by Time Travel Through the Bible. On Friday, my high school graduation DVD was watched and replaced by Déjà Vu. On Saturday, I watched Finding Dory. I replaced that with Copacabana, a recording of a play. On Sunday, I did not have time for a movie as I was busy doing other things.

Before this blog went on hiatus, I noticed a lack of people reading posts. What that could cause is me to create a new blog of some sort to fill in the gap. I don’t yet know if this will be done or not. But I have this rule that if not enough posts are read in a certain blog, another blog much be updated on the next day. If there are not enough posts read in my Survivor blog, I have to update the TV blog. If there are not enough posts read in my TV blog, I have to update my Madam Secretary blog. If there are not enough posts read in my Madam Secretary blog, then I have to update my Good Wife blog. If there are not enough posts read in my Good Wife blog, then I have to update my CSI: Cyber blog. If there are not enough posts read in my CSI: Cyber blog, I have to update this blog. And I’d have to create a brand new blog if not enough posts are read in this blog.

On Monday, I watched Mr. Bean’s Holiday. I replaced that with The Princess Bride. On Tuesday, I saw Invictus. I replaced that with The Devil Wears Prada. On Friday, I watched Pocahontas. I replaced that with The Ron Clark Story.  I was busy the next weekend and was not able to see any movie on either Saturday or Sunday. Saturday seems to now carry a double curse where I’m either not able to watch a movie then or I roll one of the newer choices on the list instead of what’s been on there the longest. It can be quite a bit annoying, but I should have a lot of extra time to watch movies this summer.

There is a note on The Ron Clark Story that will affect Friday movies in general. Since Ron Clark was on the most recent season of Survivor, I was thinking of reviewing that movie for my Survivor blog. I have this rule that if I roll something Survivor related, I have to update my TV blog that day. Now I update my blog on The Good Wife the first Friday of the month and various other days, often Fridays as well.

One of my points in the past about having a movie list when I blog about shows is to counteract the rolls that I would have of the Survivor TV show when I watch old seasons of it on DVD. I tend to not roll for or watch a TV show on DVD if I have a movie to watch that day of the week. This even means that I might want to put a movie list on Thursdays to prevent potential rolls of Survivor then. All that I know for sure is that I may not watch movies on some Fridays to avoid rolling for this movie then until I see it.

If you had seen my CSI: Cyber blog like I told you to go to until this show returned, then you would have noticed that there are movies that former members of this cast could be doing that I might review here in this blog once they are out. One of them is called Silencio. We’ll see if any of them are put here in this blog like I want it to be or not. Just know that I’ll probably wait until after the last episode airs before I put any of them in here and they may appear in normal posts should I continue with this blog like I did with the CSI: Cyber and Good Wife blog after they ended.

On Monday, I watched Liar Liar. I replaced that with National Youth Gathering 2007’s post gathering DVD. On Tuesday, I watched Time Travel Through the Bible. I replaced that with Survivor: Australia- The Greatest and Most Outrageous Moments. Like The Ron Clark Story, a roll of this would mean that I’d have to update my TV blog that day. And Tuesday is the only unfilled day of blogs right now meaning that I could go back to weekly updates of my TV blog if I roll that and the list and choice are still on that day of the week. It sounds like a good option to me.

I might touch more upon this in the later part of this post, but you can tell that a person like me is a bit obsessed with certain shows and networks if I know what shows replaced what other shows in the past. For instance, Elementary was the replacement for CSI: Miami. It was originally replaced by Wisdom of the Crowd then Instinct then God Friended Me then The Red Line. Instinct will return this summer. This show replaced Scorpion last season and sort of replaces S.W.A.T. this season, although it is now more of a summer show which often has its own schedule of things. But I’ll probably be talking a lot about all of these shows in the future and what replaced them.

Since I didn’t watch a movie on Friday, we skip to Saturday as a result. I watched Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I replaced that with The Sound of Music. On Sunday, I watched Celtic Woman’s original concert. I replaced that with Celtic Woman: A New Journey.

If you keep track of different Celtic Woman concerts, you may be so lucky to have The Greatest Journey on DVD that has a version of the song Orinoco Flow that I have linked here. They combined the footage of the version of it from the original concert and the version of it from A New Journey. I’m not sure why the group has had copyright issues with the song that gets it taken away at times. But here’s the song from The Greatest Journey which I’m pretty sure isn’t on new copies of the DVD.

On Monday, I watched The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I replaced that with Madagascar. Tuesday, I watched National Treasure. I replaced that with Nature Documentaries. On Friday, I watched Avatar. It was replaced by American Dreamz (dreamz with a z). I had no time for movies on Saturday or Sunday as I was busy with other things.

I might be changing my work schedule so I can write and post this blog on Thursdays without having to worry about working later that night or trying to get it done before the show is on. I liked having the time off last summer on Mondays when this show was on even though I didn’t post it until the next Thursday. I do like having this blog on that day and largely kept it over for just that reason. I know that today is not a Thursday, but I’ll explain more of what went on before I get to the episode recap.

On Monday, I watched Shrek. I replaced that with Shrek 2. On Tuesday, I watched Survivor: Australia- The Greatest and Most Outrageous Moments. I replaced that with a Time to Kill. This catches me up to the present so there’s not much else to say on that front.

It is likely that if I like the ending of the show or at least don’t hate it, I will start doing cast updates like what I do in my CSI: Cyber blog. They will only start once the show is over. I will make sure that I have updated my CSI: Cyber blog once already that month before I start putting them here. I will probably, at least starting out, keep these updates on Thursday and if they don’t remain there, then I will put them on a different day of the week close to the start of the month.

If you remember from last time when I was talking about sharing various animal songs in this blog based on the fact that the TV show Scorpion ending badly, you may wonder if I’m still into doing weird things like that. Well, I have one song for this post and another for the next post. Enjoy a link to the llama song, one of the web’s most well known songs.

One of the reasons that I’ve watched certain movies when I did was so that it would be the same day of the week as when I write a blog. Thus, I could move when movie lists are to other days of the week. At some point, it is likely that I wind up having to get rid of lists for one reason or another. It’s only a matter of time when by my own rules, I’ll have nothing to replace a certain thing with and have to stop with the watching of it as a result.

Now if you are like me, you will know some of what shows replaced other shows in the past. This is kind of random to keep track of, but largely something that I do for no real good reason. Now I will do more of a theme based on numbers in later posts throughout this season. Since this is the first episode of the season, let’s get to something with the number one. Enjoy the CSI: Miami season one theme song. That show is what this show originally replaced. I may find a special purpose for that show later in this blog. You will have to wait until the show ends to know for sure.

While I want to do Thursdays for this post and probably will if I can in later seasons, this post is on Friday the day after the episode aired as I yielded this to a different blog. I hope that I will be back here at more normal times where as soon as the episode is done airing, I can bring you a post of this later that day. I will miss the turnaround in this blog that I’m used to having, but that shouldn’t matter. I see no issues with a potential change in my work schedule so I’ll have Thursdays off. All I have to do is hope that I can see most of the episodes live and have free time afterwards. I’m just glad that I could see tonight’s episode live and had even set up a tape of it in case I wouldn’t.

THE IMPORTANT PART OF THIS BLOG POST STARTS NOW! The first act begins with a recap of some of what happened last season. It’s a good thing that you can just read the previous post of this blog. It has been a while without episodes or this blog as a result.

A man enters a house while creepy music plays. Will he do something bad or find something bad? It is here that he meets Sherlock. He gives his take on a pearl theft that lead to deaths. He wants to take this man on in a fight. Meanwhile, Watson shows up with blonde hair. This is unusual. Sherlock was able to solve the case in question. It seems that this woman they are working with has presumptions about the way Americans work. Sherlock destroys the pearl and finds a ring inside the glass object that is able to solve some other murder. Watson and Sherlock butt heads a bit over his tactics and the fact that she seems belittled. We then cut to a woman who seems to be a victim of mugging. I guess that we’ll find out more about what happened later as I kind of missed some of that.

The second act has it revealed that she’s the victim of an acid attack. I’m not going to say what I think of those who do that as I’m certain that I will use course language. The opening credits make sure that we know that the people from the main cast are coming back for those that keep track of it. Some sort of plague was the reason behind this attack.

We switch back to Marcus in what has to be America and he talks to a man about a murder that he did with the help of another person so they did the thing that they did in Strangers on a Train. He gets a deal out of this. He talks to Tommy about some of what’s going on. He still wants to be a marshal and that is the plan that he’s doing. He gets a gift from Sherlock.

Watson talks to Kitty about some of her struggles here. Kitty has a child that I can’t remember how she got at the moment. Hopefully, it was in the last two seasons. Watson then goes to a case where they find a crime scene relating to the acid attack. They want to talk to the victim, but the victim killed herself or that’s what it seems like at least for now.

The third act has the London team talking more about the case. They found a partial fingerprint. This was a personal attack, according to them. A journalist is taken to the police station because they found proof that he had threatened her. But he can prove that he wasn’t responsible for her death. Sherlock tells them that they won’t go after Ruby, a person of interest in the case. He gets Kitty to do what he wanted after that promise. We don’t learn much about that case just yet from what she learned, but she does tell her about Watson’s struggles living in London.

Marcus talks to Tommy about why he treats Sherlock badly now. Marcus thinks that Tommy might have been the person who knows more than he let on about Michael’s death. Marcus thinks that Tommy should try to make things right.

A motorcyclist comes up to these people with a letter from Ruby. They are able to talk to her. Ruby is the mother of Lola, the woman who had died. This must be part of the dirt that lead to what was going on in the case. But who wanted to know this and why?

The fourth act has Ruby talking about why she gave Lola up for adoption. Ruby gives information about the case in question. She confesses that she might kill whoever might have done this should they not be able to catch them legitimately. Lola wasn’t wanting to appear on camera for the last two weeks. This makes me wonder if she was pregnant. Sherlock admits that he likes it here while pointing out that he knows that Watson isn’t doing so well here herself.

Marcus talks to Tommy on his way down moving out. Tommy says that he will call Sherlock soon. We then switch back to London where Sherlock learns that Lola had plastic surgery and that was what had led to her eventual death.

The fifth act has the doctor from the very beginning at the first visit to the hospital show up as the main suspect. He performed the wrong procedure on her and used the acid attack to try to cover this up. He accidentally spilt some of this on himself. That’s how they catch him. Marcus uses Tommy’s phone to call Sherlock. Tommy was shot and it seems like he might die.

On the next Elementary, Sherlock and Watson go to America to investigate this case. I wouldn’t think that he would die, but it is possible. SPOILER. I have heard that a character named Orin will appear in this season. I don’t know if he’s replacing anyone. END SPOILER. Will Sherlock risk being arrested in order to solve this case? I guess that we’ll find out for sure later.

There’s not much else to say as I finish this post except for saying that I won’t be back for a while. I am going on vacation soon and won’t be able to see the show for a while. Know that I will be back later and will hopefully be able to see the show online. I won’t know when updates will be or if they’ll show up in the right order. I plan to right about the next episodes in order. The next post should be on 6-13-2019 and might not be the new episode that airs that day but the one that will air later this month. I won’t keep track of all the days the catch up posts could be on. Just know I’ll be back as soon as I can. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
