Cast Update 1-16-2023

This is later than usual, yet also sooner than it normally should be. I had to put a lot of the blogs of mine on hiatus for reasons that I’m going to explain in the next blog post that I put of my CSI: Cyber blog that I will share in other blogs of mine. I had planned to have this blog updated last Monday, but didn’t have the time or energy to get it done at the time. I also wanted to get it done before other blogs returned to the new normal as I could have other Mondays busy soon. Anyways, enjoy this post.

Jonny Lee Miller: It seems that he currently has only one project that I know of in the work. It is the newest season of The Crown. I don’t see anything else of his at the moment. Hopefully there will be more in the future.

The Crown: This is a Netflix series. I doubt that I’ll be able to watch it ever or any time soon. It is available now. Jonny will be in the fifth season or series if you will. He will play the role of John Major. There’s not much else to say about it.

Lucy Liu: She will be in projects. She is set to be in Shazam! Fury of the gods. Yet another thing she is doing in the future is The Invisibles. And she’ll be in Exploding Kittens. I hope that doesn’t hurt her in anyway way, but I guess that television and some movie explosions are like that. I even wrote about that in my TV blog. She’s in Strange World. She’s also set to appear in A Man in Full. More things that she will be in are Red One and Kung Fu Panda 4.

Shazam! Fury of the gods: This is set for release on March 17, 2023. It is a sequel to the film Shazam and part of the DCEU. There is not a plot for this just yet. We’ll find out more about this in the future. I just hope that I’m able to see the first one if I like this if I see this at some point in time. There is a trailer for this that I will get into now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi88i4CpHe4

Thoughts on trailer: There’s not much that I can say about this right now. It seems like it is not taking itself seriously enough in some places with the main character too full of himself for so much of the trailer. It is something that doesn’t look bad per say, just weird and different. It will probably work well enough and be a good film, but it just seems more like how DC isn’t trying as hard to be as good as Marvel is to most people.

The Invisibles: There is no release date for this yet. There also is no trailer either. But there is a plot for it. A man in a failing marriage starts to disappear and finds a new world of people who have disappeared like him as well. If I had to guess, he would overcome this problem, but maybe this won’t be the case after all? It might be nice to see for just that reason and if the movie’s ending is good.

Exploding Kittens- This has a release year of 2023. It does not have a trailer either. But it does have a plot: God and the devil being sent to earth in the body of housecats. I have no idea what else might happen or where this will air. People on imdb think it will be a Netflix show.

Strange World: This has a DVD release date of February 14, 2023. It is about a family of explorers whose differences could lead to problems. That seems to take place a whole lot of the time, doesn’t it? There is a trailer for this that I will get into now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lR0pkUjzb4

Thoughts on trailer: This looks like it could be good to an extent, although it seems kind of unoriginal in some aspects. I won’t accuse this of ripping off anything, but it sure seems like it could already exist in some degree already. Still, I do tend to like movies like this and hope that it is a good one in the end.

A Man in Full: There is set for release in 2023. There is no trailer for this yet. There should be one at some point in time. It is about a mogul who has to defend his failing empire from those seeking to gain from his failure. This is set to be a miniseries. I’ll find out where later. Maybe I’ll see what it will be like.

Red One: The plot of this is being kept a secret right now for some odd reason. It is planned for release in 2023. There is no trailer. I guess we’ll have to wait to see what this may or may not be in the end. And hopefully we’ll find out sooner rather than later.

Kung Fu Panda 4: This is set for release on March 8, 2024. It doesn’t have much of a plot mentioned right now so it must best be described as the fourth installment in this franchise. I thought that the third one finished everything, but I guess that they must milk something for all its worth so here it is.

Aidan Quinn: I thought that given his limited role in the final season of Elementary that we might be seeing less of him. Well, it turns out that I was wrong. He will be doing different things. For one, he will be part of the movie Butterfly in the Typewriter that Desmond Harrington will also be in. He’ll also be in The Gettysburg Address, which I find unlikely since that already happened in the 1860s. Two more things he will be in are Food Fight and Cry from the Sea. That’s a lot of things. One last thing he is in for now is Daughter of the Bride.

Butterfly in the Typewriter: From what I understand of the plot, an author struggles to bring a story to life in this movie. I don’t know yet if it is based on a true story. It could be very Meta if you know what that means. It has no release date yet.

The Gettysburg Address: Apparently they are going to milk the whole address into a movie. This seems like a weird choice since Lincoln himself in the address said that people will little remember what they say today. There is no release date yet for this.

Food Fight: This has a release date of February 24, 2023. It doesn’t mention much of a plot for this just yet. There is no trailer at the moment. Thus, there is not much else that there is to say about this. What kind of food fight could this be or relate to? I guess we’ll have to see.

Cry from the Sea: This has an unknown release date at the moment. It does not have a trailer yet either. I can’t quite make sense of the plot just yet, but it appears to be about a grieving lighthouse keeper and the three people who change his life.

Daughter of the Bride: This has no release date or trailer just yet. The plot relates to the friendship of a mother and daughter that has a relationship test when a mystery man enters the picture as a fiancée. And I’m sure you’ll see the typical clichés after that.

Jon Michael Hill: He might finally be doing something, although I’m a bit unsure and not entirely clear for sure if he has a major role in it. But he is set to be in 61st Street. It is nice to finally see him in something worth covering for once. He is also set to be in A Man in Full, already covered elsewhere in this blog and now covered here as well.

61st Street: This is available now. It is about a high school athlete who winds up swept into the criminal justice system for some reason. We’ll probably have to find out more by seeing it for ourselves some day. There is a trailer for this now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQpfF9trmi4

Thoughts on trailer: What’s the type of trailer that one could call this anyways? It seems a bit, analytical? I don’t think that’s the right word. I can’t make much out of this, but I guess that it’s supposed to be exciting, although I can’t tell why they don’t include more of the exciting parts other than just music that might not be in the final project.

A Man in Full: There is no release date or trailer for this yet. It is about a mogul who has to defend his failing empire from those seeking to gain from his failure. This is set to be a miniseries. I’ll find out where later. It could be good, but the plot seems overused.

John Noble: He has a lot of projects in the work, so I might as well get to mentioning all of them. One is called Silencio. Another is called Nameless. A different one is called Stream. Yet another is called Guardians of Luna. I wonder if they’ll all get made. He’s also in something new called Call Waiting. I wonder what all he’ll show up in randomly. He is doing Twilight of the Gods. And he is in Star Trek: Prodigy. He does a lot. He will be in the new season of Severance.

Silencio: This was in Mexican and not American theaters. It has a plot mentioned of someone looking for a powerful stone. It has an unknown DVD release date. I hope to review it when it is out on DVD or blu-ray unless it winds up on streaming instead.

Nameless: This could be interesting. It has no release date or trailer just yet. The plot relates to lost souls facing struggles with their past. It seems like it could be a good film, but it is hard to tell or know yet for sure. It seems like it could be good.

Stream: In this movie, telepathy is made possible, but it could have unforeseen outcomes. This seems like a possible basic premise for Downsizing with a different element of sci-fi used instead. There is not yet a trailer and there’s no release date yet. It only lists his role as rumored, so the movie could wind up happening, but not have him in it.

Guardians of Luna: This plot might be hard to keep track of. So there are werewolves that are part of a cursed town and there’s a war on humans potentially. It has no release date yet nor a trailer. But it does sound pretty interesting.

Call Waiting: This is has no plot listed yet. It’s year of release is unknown at the time. I guess that we will find out later what will happen with this and what the plot of this short might be. Until then, I guess we’ll just wait and see what will happen with it.

Twilight of the gods: There is no known plot for this at this point in time. It is set to be a TV series of some sort. The current release date is unknown. There is no trailer yet, either. So what else is worth keeping track of here for now? Not much.

Star Trek: Prodigy: This is currently on Paramount+. There is a trailer for this that I will talk about some. It is animated and seeks to use teens in a stolen vessel to explore the galaxy. It was renewed for a second season already.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBE7d8sH5Rg

Thoughts on trailer: A lot of trailers are like this. They look great and make the show look great, but are also cliché and generic. Plus, I don’t know if there is some rule that says that all Star Trek TV shows are only allowed on streaming. I’m sad that we will never see this discussed in an episode of The Big Bang Theory. Anyways, this show looks like it could be interesting, but I doubt that I’ll be able to see it.

Severance: This is a TV show. It is out now. The plot is about a company that is trying to take work-life balance to a new level, according to the internet movie database. That involves splitting their minds into two in a way.

Desmond Harrington: He is set to appear in a movie called Butterfly in the Typewriter, which I’ll explain in the next paragraph. There’s not much else that he is known to be doing right now. Maybe he’ll do more in the future. I’ll wait to see what it could be.

Butterfly in the Typewriter: I can’t tell yet if this is based off of a true story or not. I do know that it is about the struggles of an author to bring a comedy story to life. It has an unknown release date at this time. I guess we’ll see what comes of it later.

James Frain: He doesn’t have any projects in the works right now that imdb is mentioned. I took out the one that was there since it isn’t there anymore. There isn’t too much else to say about him at the time so hopefully, we will be doing something at some point in time.

Robert Doherty: He does not seem to have any projects in the works right now. Maybe something will come of the project that was in the updates, but I am not ready to add that back here yet as I just don’t see that as happening for sure right now, even if it is back on imdb. We’ll see what I do.

Emily Procter: She hasn’t done much since CSI: Miami ended. She is a mom so I don’t know if that means she’d be acting less. Maybe she’ll do something at some point. But I don’t see anything that she’s doing just yet. Maybe I’ll see more later.

Khandi Alexander: While she still acts some, as recently as 2019, I couldn’t find anything of hers that was major that she’s doing right now. The most recent thing that she did was an episode of What We Do in the Shadows. I hope to see more of her in the future.

Kim Delaney: She hasn’t been doing much that I can see right now. Maybe she will do more or maybe not. I can hope that she does something, but maybe this will leave me with one less person to deal with covering in this blog.

Jorja Fox: While she isn’t doing anything since leaving CSI: Vegas as of yet (she does not have to at all by any means as she can retire from acting or simply do other jobs), I am going to include her in this blog now since she won’t be part of CSI: Vegas anymore.

Mel Rodriguez: I’m not sure why he left CSI: Vegas since they never gave his character much in terms of character development. I mean, he could have stayed on until there was more they could give his character other than simply being the weird ME. And it doesn’t seem like he left this for any other job at the moment (well, any other acting job that would show up on imdb), but I’ll keep track of what’s happening with him from this point forward.

Adam Rodriguez: We’ll see what all he might do in the future. Now after it was originally cancelled before it was ever made, a reboot of Criminal Minds appears to be in the future for him. It is now called Criminal Minds: Evolution. He will also be in Scrambled. And the current last thing that he’s in is Winter Spring Summer or Fall.

Criminal Minds: Evolution: This will be on Paramount+ and a new series than the previous one, but a reboot featuring characters from the original show. It is out now on Paramount+. It is about an UnSub who used the pandemic to create serial killers. This will not at all reinforce many people’s ideas that the virus wasn’t the real problem in regards to the pandemic (sarcasm, of course). Of course, they probably have to be caught in the typical villain of the week format.

Scrambled: This is about a woman who decides to freeze her eggs. I can’t tell too much from this yet. What I do know is that this has no trailer. It has a release time frame of March of 2023. We’ll have to see more of what will happen with this later.

Winter Spring Summer or Fall: This has an unknown release date at the moment. It also doesn’t have a trailer. Another thing that it lacks that it should have is commas. What is up with the lack of commas? Anyways, two teens fall in love over four days of the year in this movie that might be a remake.

Rex Linn: He is set to appear in the third season onward of Big Sky. I won’t be seeing that show again and am currently unsure if it even deserves its own section in this blog. He is also set to appear in The Hammer. That’s all for now.

The Hammer: This has already aired on Lifetime. There is a trailer for this now, but I will not be covering that. I’m not sure what this is, but this could be a movie. It is about a lawyer who becomes a judge who then has to deal with her sister becoming the suspect in the murder of a former judge. I will be removing this from the updates.
